Avalon Research Ltd is a leader in solving downhole problems both domestically and internationally, due to an in-house design team always willing to tackle a project with short notice. We specialize in custom-built equipment to meet our customers' individual downhole requirements.

Our innovative technology includes setting permanent bridge plugs on slickline in coiled tubing, Safety Firing Head for Perforating and Setting Bridge Plugs, setting our US- and Canadian-patented retrievable tubing packers, Patch-through-a-patch technology, Downhole Hydraulic Pumping System, and Ultimate Packers with Mechanical Setting Tool.

We are especially proud of our US- and Canadian-patented "Retrievable Tubing Packer", (QRTP) which has proved to be an extremely valuable tool for well control. After years of service, the QRTP recently received a full design evaluation and evolved into the current QUP product line. The QUP utilizes all the positive features of the QRTP with some key design improvements for easier operation and better performance.

Our company will continue to grow with technological advancement in the field of research and design being at the forefront.

We are willing to custom design any innovative tools to solve existing well problems. This has lead to the design of many custom tools, some that are patented in the US and Canada for well control operations.

Avalon Research would also like to announce the purchase and commissioning of a full service machine shop. A CNC (computer numerical controlled) lathe, a manual lathe and a milling center allow Avalon Research an increasing flexibility with respect to production turnaround times and increased research and development capabilities. Being an ISO certified company means constant checks and balances to maintain the highest product quality and traceability. With more than 70% of product coming from internal production, Avalon Research is able to increase our quality control to even stricter tolerances.

Avalon Research Ltd.’s combination of research, testing, design and production capabilities make us ideally suited to an ever-changing industry and allows us to make quick and efficient changes and updates to our production equipment whenever required.

Avalon Research is the sole manufacturer of specialty Plugs and Tools formally marketed under the Quinn Well Control Ltd. banner. Effective August 1, 2006, Quinn Well Control Ltd. was purchased by Integrated Production Services (IPS) and is now a division of IPS. This includes all specialty tooling with the exemption of the Sand Control Sliding Sleeves which remain the property of IPS as mentioned above.
